You deserve support that helps your brain and body finally exhale.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, research-backed therapy that helps the brain process overwhelming experiences so they no longer feel “stuck,” reactive, or emotionally charged.
Katie offers EMDR for all ages — including children as young as three — in a warm, grounding, developmentally attuned way.

Our Approach
EMDR with Katie is gentle, attuned, and paced intentionally for safety. She blends EMDR with play-based and relational approaches for younger children, and with grounding, mindfulness, and emotional processing tools for teens and adults.
Her work emphasizes:
* Emotional safety
* Attachment-informed pacing
* Somatic awareness
* Developmentally appropriate tools
* Clear communication with caregivers (for minors)
* Trauma-informed care at every step
For children, EMDR often includes play, metaphor, art, storytelling, and grounding techniques to help them process experiences without feeling overwhelmed.
EMDR for Young Children
(Ages 3–10)
EMDR for young kids is highly effective for helping the brain process events that feel “too big” or scary — even when the event seems small from an adult perspective.
Katie uses a child-friendly EMDR model that incorporates play, imagination, movement, storytelling, and age-appropriate bilateral stimulation.
EMDR may help young children with:
* Fear after an injury (e.g., slicing a finger while cooking)
* Car accidents or medical trauma
* Separation distress
* Nightmares or sudden fears
* Single-event trauma
* Recurrent trauma
* Bullying or school-based incidents
* Avoidance behaviors or new triggers (e.g., refusing to get in the car, refusing to help in the kitchen, fear of a room or person)
For kids, EMDR often works *quickly* — sometimes reducing a significant fear or trigger within just a few sessions.
Parents are involved throughout the process to support safety, regulation, and integration at home.
EMDR for
Teens & Adults
EMDR can help older clients process:
* Single-incident trauma
* Chronic stress or emotional overwhelm
* Sexual assault or interpersonal trauma
* Birth trauma
* Panic, anxiety, or phobias
* Medical or dental trauma
* Attachment wounds or adverse childhood experiences
* Relationship ruptures
* Emotional triggers that feel “out of nowhere”
* Patterns that feel stuck, reactive, or looping
EMDR allows the brain to “re-file” overwhelming experiences so they no longer feel as charged, frightening, or intrusive.
EMDR Intensives with Katie
For clients who want deeper work in a shorter amount of time, Katie offers EMDR Intensives — extended sessions designed for accelerated healing.
Each EMDR Intensive includes:
* A pre-session assessment
* A 90–180 minute EMDR-focused session
* Stabilization and grounding tools
